Johan Norberg

Author of the best seller "Open" and expert in human progress



Johan Norberg is a writer, speaker and author of documentaries, a specialist in topics such as freedom, progress, entrepreneurship and globalization, among others. He is a member of the Cato Institute in Washington D.C. and the Center for International Political Economy in Brussels. He is the author of more than twenty books that have been translated into twenty-five languages. He has published 2005's In Defense of Global Capitalism and Financial Fiasco: How Americans' Obsession with Real Estate and Easy Money Caused the 2015 Economic Crisis. Progress. 10 reasons to look to the future was considered by The Economist as book of the year in 2017.

Norberg regularly writes for outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Reason, and HuffPost. He has been awarded several prizes, including the Atlas Foundation's Distinguished Sir Antony Fisher Memorial Award, the Walter Judd Freedom Award, the Julian Simon Memorial Award, and the German Hayek Stiftung's Gold Medal.
