Renowned Cuban and International Esthete, Master of Multiple Artistic Media with Great Mexican Influence
"Art reminds us that there is something divine in our species. Art is a space for cure, healing, tolerance, reflection and introspection for the connoisseur and for the common man."
Luna is one of the most important Latin American artists of its generation, with a meteoric career and a well-defined personal style.
He emigrated from Cuba to Mexico in 1991, where his career entered a new phase of exploration and development as he linked up with artists and thinkers from the country. His emigration has offered a novel perspective on his own roots, incorporating new materials and techniques, expanding and consolidating his personal poetics, as well as the opportunity to expand his artistic vision on a global scale.
In 2001, Carlos Luna received the US EB-1 visa for extraordinary abilities and decided to immigrate to the United States with his family. This allowed him quick access to the most demanding art circuits in the world. Proof of this are the more than 200 exhibitions in museums and institutions, emphasizing Pablo Picasso Ceramics | Carlos Luna Paintings, NSU Art Museum | Fort Lauderdale, Reading Public Museum, Museum of Latin American Art, Frost Art Museum, Bass Museum of Art, American University Museum, Boca Raton Museum of Art, Polk Museum of Art, Susquehanna Art Museum, among others.
He continually experiments with techniques and media. Also, he expands the ways in which he uses his images to portray, narrate, and explore personal experiences. His work as a sculptor enhances public spaces in different cities around the world.
