Successful Humorous Satyr Musical Group from Canary Islands, Spain
"And we saw the light. The classics are back. We classical composers have emerged from our graves to bring order and organization to this new musical era."
La Chirichota is a comic-musical group that was born in the Canary Islands in mid-2022. Influenced by the chirigotas of the Cádiz Carnival, hence the prefix "chiri". One of the curiosities of La Chirichota is its small number of members compared to other similar groups: Seven people whose musical format is composed of Spanish guitar, guitalele and percussion (cajon and bongos). A portable and versatile format, agile, fun and that meshes perfectly with his lyrics full of social analysis.
For this formation, Víctor Lemes, a singer-songwriter with experience in this type of format, has been joined by people from the world of the stage such as Aarón Gómez (comedian), Juan Dávila (singer and composer), Abraham Santacruz (actor and multi-instrumentalist), Dani Rodríguez (writer and theater director) and the rest of the cast is completed by Alberto Vila (multi-instrumentalist) and Daniel Quevedo (comedian), who although they do not belong professionally to these fields, they do breathe and share the passion for the world of humor, music and carnival.
The staging of La Chirichota consists of dressing up as a character and performing a repertoire from the point of view and prism of the same character. A special approach to theatrical performance and a unitary show of humor, music and theater.
