Keishia Thorpe was awarded the Nobel Prize for teachers and is the director and professor of English at the International High School Langley Park, in Maryland, United States. In 2021 she was awarded the Global Teacher Prize, for her activity as a teacher, with the objective that her students can enter the university or access better job opportunities. She founded US Elite International, an organization that promotes and assists young people who excel in sports and athletics so that they can obtain scholarships and continue their studies.

She founded the Hope Beyond Distance Foundation, which offers counseling and support to immigrant and undocumented students and their families. With the Food4Change program, she offers food to vulnerable families in her community, because she understands that adequate nutrition allows better conditions for learning.

Some of her most notable achievements are a Maryland State Senate Resolution, Governor Larry Hogan Medal of Excellence, Unsung Hero Community Award, LifeChanger of the Year 2018-19 for the US and in 2021 she was awarded the Global Teacher Prize, considered the Nobel Prize for teachers.
