Héctor Ortiz

The Best Elvis Presley Impersonator in Latin America and an Actor with More than 50 Years of Experience

"I've had 51 years of professional career and 56 years of singing rock. Stepping into Elvis' shoes is a big responsibility, very strong, because he is a very beloved character. Everybody idolizes Elvis. There is no middle ground with him."

Héctor Ortiz is an artist with more than fifty years in show business, a professional who gives heart and soul in every performance. He is known for being the best Latin American impersonator of Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison.

In 1973 he began his career when he participated in the first staging in Mexico of the musical comedy Grease, alongside Julissa and Benny Ibarra. During the following four years he acted in Godspell, Pippin, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show. He later directed and produced The Beatles.

Six years later, he was part, as director and vocal arranger, of Andrew Loyd Webber's first rock-opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, acting as "The Pharaoh" Ramses II, who was transformed scenically into "Elvis Presley".

Between 2008 and 2011, BBC London conducted a worldwide search for the best impersonators of the "King of Rock" and declared Héctor Ortiz as "The Best Elvis Presley Impersonator in Latin America." Since then, Héctor has impacted numerous audiences, including children and young people, spreading and sharing with great joy the celebration and tribute to Elvis.

In 2024, Héctor kicked off the year with a sold out show at the Lunario of Auditorio Nacional of Mexico with Elvis Lives. He also performed for the first time at the Teatro Metropólitan with the show Elvis & Friends, a show full of emotions with a full capacity theater.
