Matt Kibbe

Libertarian and President of Free the People, Foundation that Seeks to Inspire the Values of Personal Liberty and Peaceful Cooperation

"The political spectrum doesn't run from left to right; it's up and down. At the top are people who want to be left alone, who want to be free to cooperate with their neighbors, who don't hurt people or take their stuff; on the bottom stands anyone wanting to use government power and coercion to tell you how to live your life."

Matt Kibbe is a libertarian rabblerouser —the intellectual bastard child of Ayn Rand and Jerry Garcia—. He is a communicator, storyteller, author, grassroots organizer and recovering political activist.

Matt is President at Free the People, and an educational foundation using video storytelling to inspire the next generation to the values of personal liberty and peaceful cooperation. Kibbe is also the host of BlazeTV's "Kibbe on Liberty," and a Senior Fellow at the Austrian Economics Center in Vienna.

He was Senior Advisor for a Rand Paul Presidential Super PAC in 2016. In 2004 Kibbe founded FreedomWorks, a national grassroots advocacy organization, and served as President until 2015. Steve Forbes said: "Kibbe has been to FreedomWorks what Steve Jobs was to Apple." Newsweek pronounced Kibbe "one of the masterminds" of tea party politics. MSNBC's Keith Olbermann called Kibbe "The second worst person in the world."

Dubbed "the scribe" by the New York Daily News, Kibbe is the author of a number of books, including the #2 New York Times bestseller Don't Hurt People and Don't Take Their Stuff: A Libertarian Manifesto (HarperCollins 2014). Kibbe appears frequently in the media, including FOX News, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, CNN, MSNBC, and PBS.
