The Festival of Ideas, Puebla 2025, continued with a vibrant day in which knowledge, creativity and inspiration came together in every conversation. From education and emotional well-being, to technological innovation and exploration of the future.
The second day brought together extraordinary voices that invited us to rethink our certainties, challenge limits and open up new possibilities. Below, we share with you a block-by-block chronicle of what we experienced on Friday, May 30.
After the performance by the Orquesta Sinfónica y el Coro del Instituto Superior de Música Esperanza Azteca, Allison Avendaño, founder of Digitally School, reflected on the power of imagination and hope to turn dreams into reality. Meanwhile, Julian Treasure spoke about the importance of improving our ability to listen in order to live a fuller life, especially in an increasingly noisy world.
Erin Gruwell shared how she transformed her students’ lives through books, writing, and empathy. A touching moment occurred when she invited Tony, one of her former students, to join her on stage, highlighting the impact of the Freedom Writers Foundation across multiple generations. Finally, Nuseir Yassin offered a reflection on how the world has evolved thanks to AI. He explained how this technology has transformed the way we create more efficient and accessible business opportunities.

The segment began with a surprising magic act by Solange Kardinaly. Next, Matthew Hussey spoke about the importance of self-confidence and self-love as tools to improve both personal and professional relationships. Alberto Chab shared the story of how “Noventa y Contando” was founded and how it has served as a therapeutic tool to improve the lives of older adults. For him, well-being is not only achieved through meditation, good nutrition, and rest, human connection is equally essential.
The presence of Peter Sage stirred up excitement among the audience, and through a fluid and relaxed talk, the human behavior expert and high-impact mentor spoke about mental health and how he always practices what he preaches when sharing his knowledge. Continuing the program, Cesalina Gracie presented the principles of jiu-jitsu and offered a series of insights to spark creativity, resilience, and well-being. To conclude the segment, Alua Arthur explored the concept of mortality as one of the topics that deserves greater attention and conscious reflection.

This segment couldn’t have started in a better way: Sylvie di Giusto took the stage with a unique immersive holographic presentation, where she explained the importance of appearance, behavior, communication, digital presence, and environment in shaping the people we want to become. For her, innovation starts with working on oneself.
Later, Sara Giusto posed an intriguing question: What would happen if a virtual human acted and performed just like a real person? She introduced Imma, the Japanese virtual influencer who engages with her audience on social media and has even starred in ad campaigns for brands like Dior, Nike, and Calvin Klein!
Cristóbal García Jaimes then captivated the audience by explaining complex physics and math concepts using everyday life and pop culture examples. In his words: “Innovation is using something that’s already invented to create something that hasn’t been invented yet.” Tim Urban focused his talk on three traits that transform organizational thinking and culture to boost leadership, creativity, and innovation.
In a powerful closing, Alfonso Cuarón stepped out from behind the camera to become a star of the Festival de las Ideas, Puebla 2025. He shared his vision of the importance of sensory experience and intuition in the creative process. The conversation continued during a fantastic meet & greet with the trivia winners.

Thanks to everyone who has been part of this experience: attendees, speakers, volunteers and production team. And, of course, our deepest thanks to The Italian Coffee, Tiendas Neto, Loco Tequila, Susalia, Presta Prenda and Coca-Cola, who with their valuable support make it possible for the Festival de las Ideas to continue growing as a space to share, question and imagine a better future.
