The last day of the Festival of Ideas, Puebla 2025 closed with an explosion of knowledge, talent and memorable moments.

Ideas soared on the stage of the Metropolitan Auditorium and offered the audience new perspectives on economics, leadership and culture. It was a day where emotion was combined with reflection, and where each speaker left a unique mark to inspire personal and collective change.

The event opened with a captivating performance by Marcelito Pomoy, whose unique vocal interpretation enthralled the audience at the Auditorio Metropolitano. Following this, Robert Breedlove referenced an iconic scene from The Matrix to introduce his talk on Bitcoin. Just as Morpheus offers Neo the choice between the red pill and the blue pill, Breedlove presented a third option: the "orange pill"—a metaphor for Bitcoin, which he described as humanity’s most reliable creation and a vital ally in the advancement of human rights.

Later, Roberto Salinas addressed the implications of trade wars and tariff barriers, asserting, "Closing markets and building tariff walls doesn’t promote growth—it paralyzes it." Sary Levy discussed the growing burden of bureaucratic systems, highlighting how excessive bureaucracy has become a major obstacle to development.

Simeon Djankov offered a comparative analysis of the upcoming judicial electoral process in Mexico and that of Bolivia, while also sharing insights from his personal experience in Eastern Europe. The event concluded with Xavier Sala i Martín, creator of the Global Competitiveness Index, who spoke about three types of ideas: scientific, technological, and social. He emphasized that we are living through an era of unprecedented innovation and concluded by saying, “Business ideas don’t come from researchers or scientists alone—they come from workers and students. Anyone among you could be the one to revolutionize the world.”

The King of Rock made his presence felt at the Ideas Festival, Puebla 2025! Elvis Presley, portrayed by Héctor Ortiz, thrilled the audience with the greatest rock & roll hits. James Clear explained the essential steps to generate meaningful changes that impact human behavior, emphasizing that habits are key to personal growth. Nacho Cano’s presence amazed the crowd; the artist and producer thanked Puebla and spoke about Malinche as one of the contributions he makes to understanding Mexico. Hernán Asto discussed the results of his inventions, particularly a non-metallic conductive polymer that helps generate energy from plants, benefiting several communities in Peru. Juan Miguel Zunzunegui questioned the historical narrative that has prevailed in Mexico and later joined a conversation with Nacho Cano and Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego about the cultural battle that must be fought, understood as a struggle for the good ideas that have worked throughout history. Finally, the award-winning performance coach, leadership expert, and cultural transformation specialist Ivan Joseph addressed the importance of building teams with a high culture of excellence through fun and moving stories.
